JEANNIE MARCHIONDA

In December 2022, I had my yearly mammogram at the Heritage Valley Women's Health Center. I then received a phone call to come in for an ultrasound. The ultrasound detected a lump in my right breast which warranted a biopsy. My gynecologist called me and told me that I had breast cancer and she recommended Dr. Sheri Morris. My appointment with Dr. Morris was very informative as she explained everything that had to be done. She was absolutely wonderful and made me feel comfortable about everything. On March 3, 2023, the morning of my surgery, samples were taken of my lymph nodes. I had a lumpectomy to my right breast and everything was successful.

My post surgical follow-ups were with an Oncologist named Dr. Robert Schillo. I had 20 radiation treatments and continue taking medication to reduce future risks. My family and friends were very supportive throughout my breast cancer journey. My husband was by my side on the day that I rang the victory bell after my last radiation treatment. The nurse graciously videoed that moment so that I could share it with my daughters and granddaughter. I have been very blessed.
