I was diagnosed with triple positive invasive lobular breast cancer on October 3, 2023. Twenty months later, after chemotherapy, a double mastectomy without reconstruction, radiation, and chemo-based immunotherapy, I completed treatment and proudly rang the bell on my 72nd birthday.
Like everyone with cancer diagnosis, the news of having invasive ductal breast cancer in 2016 rocked me pretty hard. The emotions of fear, anger and consumed with anxiety.Blessed with so much support from first and foremost, my husband Dave, went to all my appointments and chemo treatments. Our son Tyler, friends, family co workers and my faith was definite inspiration to overcome. I don't deny I can be "stubborn", I call it "strong willed".
