Getting cancer at 34 was one of the scariest, hardest battles I’ve ever faced, both physically and mentally. Prayer, Christian music playing all day, and leaning on my family were the biggest reasons I made it through treatment. During those dark days, I focused on anything that brought me joy and held onto it. I spent time coloring, reading, painting my nails, and watching lots of reality TV. My favorite part of each chemo weekend was my dad bringing me baked treats, like Costco cherry pies or chocolate thumbprints. Even when nothing sounded good, something sweet always made those days brighter!
