In 2005, while I was on shift working at the hospital, I felt a lump on my left breast when I brushed the inside of my arm against it. I mentioned it to one of the Physicians Assistants that was on duty and she had a Dr. come to check it. He immediately scheduled me for a biopsy that week which revealed that it was Cancer. My treatment of included a Lumpectomy and Radiation along with 5 years of hormone therapy. The surgery left me disfigured and depressed but my family’s support helped to lift me. I am a 21 year survivor!
