In 2018, I was numb and lived in a state of shock from the time that testing began to verify my prostate cancer diagnosis through the time that I received my first optimistic, PSA reading after the surgery. Though that time in my life seemed to be a blur, my most distinct memory is that my life partner, Cherie, was always at my side. She carried me through this whole process. When I went into surgery, her face was the last face I saw, and when I awoke in the recovery room, there she was again. Without complaint, she did everything that I needed as my body and my mind recovered from the cancer diagnosis and the required surgery. I am thankful to God for each day and I can never fully repay Cherie for holding me up through this ordeal with all of her positive energy and love.
